Happy Opening Day! I chose to start my baseball season in Miami, watching the Marlins and Braves at Marlins Park.
Gotta give the Marlins props for their willingness to stand out. Whereas most parks try to capture the old-timey feel of a past baseball era, this park looks almost futuristic — while strange, it seems to fit in better with Miami’s culture. Plus there are plenty of interesting things to see within, as well.
And on a personal note, it was nice to achieve a little milestone I had been gunning for for a while: As of now, I have visited all 30 current MLB parks. I know they don’t give out medals for that, but maybe I’ll have to make myself one. Until Atlanta opens its new park in 2017, allow me to bask in this one for a little bit.
