When in Arlington, go big

We spent Sunday in Arlington, Texas, fulfilling a longtime ambition — seeing both of the city’s sports venues on the same day. We started off at Globe Life Park, watching Rangers-Mariners (and eating bacon on a stick), then quickly moved on to the mammoth AT&T Stadium to see the Cowboys and 49ers open up the NFL season.

AT&T Stadium, of course, was the highlight, with a terrific atmosphere befitting Week 1 of the NFL season and a high-profile matchup between the Cowboys and 49ers. Despite a sparse crowd, the venue formerly known as The Ballpark in Arlington wasn’t so bad, either, with good sightlines and a fascinating food selection (as the bacon on a stick would suggest).

More to come later on both venues. In the meantime, follow @itinerantfan on Instagram for more pics from the road, won’t you?
