It was an absolute pleasure getting to (finally) experience one of the NHL’s outdoor spectacles, the Stadium Series game between the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings at Dodger Stadium. No, there was no snow, and the sight lines were not good, but it was definitely a spectacle that I, Mrs. Fan, J-Park and Twisted Sister thoroughly enjoyed (well, except for the final score, Kings fans that three of us are).

As fun as the NHL made this event, and as well as they tried to capture the California lifestyle, I’d still like to experience a Winter Classic or some other outdoor game in a cold-weather climate. I do think the cold is an integral part of the outdoor hockey experience. So it’ll remain on my sports bucket list for now, but I’m glad I have this experience to fill in the gap in the meantime.
