Our latest arena visit took us to Phoenix and US Airways Center, home of the Suns.
The arena, formerly known as America West Arena and soon to be known as Talking Stick Arena, was meant to be a basketball-only facility (meaning the larger dimensions needed to accommodate a hockey rink weren’t factored in, something the Coyotes franchise painfully learned), and so intimacy is a key part of the atmosphere. You feel like you’re on top of the action no matter where you’re sitting, which is a good thing for the basketball fan.
More to come in a future Itinerary, of course. Now if you’ll excuse me, spring training is going on and I want to work on my suntan.
