On Thursday, during a quick trip to the San Francisco Bay Area, we had the chance to swing by Oakland and O.co Coliseum, where the A’s were hosting the Rangers in a weekday matinee.
The aging Coliseum is showing its age in many ways, and it has led to much speculation about the future of the A’s and their fellow tenant, the Raiders. But it’s still there and still hosting major-league sports, and on a day as spectacular as Thursday was, it’s easy to ignore the warts and just enjoy a day at the ballpark. Plus, the A’s pitched a one-hitter to beat the Rangers, so the home fans went home happy.
