When in Europe, watch football

With a two-day layover in Munich to kick off our Winter Olympics journey, Mrs. Fan and I thought it would be appropriate to watch some soccer. Bayern Munich wasn’t scheduled to play at home, but fortunately for us, Bundesliga 2 club TSV 1860 Munich was — and our chance to visit the very cool-looking Allianz Arena was set up for us.

As newbies to the whole European soccer deal, we found the experience quite fascinating, from the game presentation to the raucous crowd that made a half-full stadium feel totally rambunctious.

More to come on Allianz Arena, of course, but our flight to Sochi awaits! In the meantime, here’s a shameless plug to follow The Itinerant Fan on Instagram (@itinerantfan) for more pics from the road.
